A day intended for celebration

Now may be a day doomed for infamy

Nightmare to replace my dearest daydream

Invitations already sealed and sent

Veil and white lace dress already purchased

Empty tear ducts of potential heartbreak

Releasing grip to extend open hands

Suspended and awaiting sovereignty

Am I flying, floating, or free falling?

Resolve is my vulnerability

You choose if we belong to yesterday

Author’s Note: This was written for Real Poetic’s Anniversary challenge.
