i was angry

i was furious

how could i

i hated him

for being so infuriating

for making me hate him

for turning every single thing i thought i knew on its head

for making me love him

for being so infatuating

i wanted him

how could i

i was enamored

i was in love

orange

i was burning

i was engulfed

who was i

i ignited the air

all around me it burned

all around me it fumed

all that i knew i wanted to light up and turn it to ash

all around me it glowed

all around me it shined

i heated the air

who was i

i was fire

i was light

yellow

i was wild

i was reckless

where was i

i was lost

nothing could calm me down

nothing could turn off the chaotic energy

nothing made sense and then suddenly i was home

nothing could break these walls

nothing could make me hurt

i was safe

where was i

i was protected

i was home

green

i was envy

i was jealousy

who were they

i wanted that

i wanted to be like the others

i wanted to be normal too

i wanted to be someone that didn't have to hide or run

i wanted to feel alive

i wanted to heal

i wanted that

who were they

i was energy

i was life

blue

i was sad

i was heartbroken

how could he

i was hurt

my tears fell in torrents of rain

my tears fell in waves crashing me against the shore

my tears grew large and carried endless suffering out of me

my tears fell in showers of rejuvenating water

my tears fell in rivers washing me clean

i was clean

how could he

i was an ocean

i was beauty

purple

i was afraid

i was terrified

what was i

i trembled in place

everything was scary

everything was a nightmare

every moment leading up to this felt like a dream

everything was a fantasy

everything was peaceful

i breathed in lavender

what was i

i was cleansed

i was free
