pretty eyes

I know someone with pretty, pretty eyes.

Backstage, the lights came on

Bright; and they were opened wide.

I saw the details of the blue and the green

The way these melted and morphed together

Supreme.

I love the mixing watercolours undertoned with dark, dark Sharpie.

Because the way they gleam when the sun creeps up on your cheek

Is special to me.

/

I know someone else with pretty, pretty eyes.

Framed with dark lashes

Which stick together like honey on a spiderweb

Whenever the world is throwing a tantrum again.

I wish you weren't so decorated with the weights it hurls at you.

It is so selfish.

But there is desire behind those thoughts of fire;

A boldness unmatched by the moon's spying nature

Or the pryed-open jealousy of the sun's halos.
