A poem inspired by dread and fear

😟😟😟

Why do I feel all this pressure? Is it why I was born?

A caregiver, a housemaker, and a wife? What other mask must be worn?

Oh right, a mother, how could I forget?

The prestigious title that has brought me the most regret!

God, it feels like my soul is being torn!

😟😟😟

My job, my family, or education? Which should I choose?

Take away from one or another, and it's clearly abuse!

Pounding in my head,

Endless existential dread.

No matter my choice, I always seem to lose!
