Pressure

Thick, creamy clouds smear the sky grey and purple,

swelling until bursting, releasing hot summer rain,

steam rising from the earth,

air heavy with the scent

of the passing storm,

sultry, slowing movement,

trapping moist heat on skin,

sweat veiling limbs,

temperature still climbing,

barometric

pressure still dropping,

building inside

after the release.
