Prepare to Be

Life is Medusa

By Soft DuckiePublished 7 years ago 1 min read

Life is Medusa

Too beautiful to be

Curves that turn you to stone

Words like snake oil

Don't look right at her

Lest you're shot down

Looking through a reflection

That belongs to someone else

So you can see she

With two verdant eyes

Prepare to be

Prepare to be

Just another stonehearted

Stalwart traveler

Out for the glory

Caught up in the chase

Only to be caught in her game

Of snake and mouse

A back that arches

Forever

A hiss between teeth

That slips between your ears

Echoing for a lifetime

Of scorn

Of love

Of jealousy

And her sister weaves

The time you spend

In her embrace

Snake bitten

Twice charmed

Prepare to be

Prepare to be
