Praying for a miracle
As shivers go down my spine
I think of what’s to come
The inevitable sadness awaits
All I can do is try not to succumb
Strength and faith are all that’s left
Believing in a miracle
Digging deep into my soul
Grasping on anything and everything trying not to be cynical
Desperately searching for hope
Wherever it manifests from
Absorbing every ounce of possibility
That a divine intervention will come
Seeking for answers that are unknown
Being relentless during the process
Gaining knowledge every second
Using every ounce of energy and refusing to acquiesce
Probing for anything that can prolong and sustain life
Appreciating every moment that goes by
Praying mom fights and beats the odds
Of this illness she was given while forever wondering why.
Such an exquisite special woman
Whose presence brightens the world
She deserves the best chance at life
And doesn’t deserve all that’s been hurled.
