Standing outside in the midday,

staring back at me through a thin screen door.

Simply waiting for the screen to crack and for something else, I don't know.

.

A wanderer in my eyes,

Attending to the dreams that turn into nightmares.

Absurd to think that it could just show up and demand, I acknowledge it.

.

Venturing no matter where I go,

Vanishing for a second, only to reappear when I turn.

Vocal is its roar that pierces the silence and shifts the dream floor.

.

Each step taken to get away,

Endures the knowledge that it's still behind me, only to

Eventually, find me tucked between walls and silently screaming for anything.

.

Time slips faster down the steep.

The morning dawn is coming, it knows.

Tight are the nerves and the air as it finally corners me with nowhere else to go.

.

Here? Can't it just leave me alone?

Hunger develops, about to pounce with sharpened glares.

Heal some part that won't move on its own.

.

Eager to get the passion that had nearly died with

Endless stalking just to prove a point.

Exit to the left, where an absurd route appears.

.

Seek another night of peace,

Settled for another night of confusion.

Stop, and let me deal with things without having to rush into the running fangs.

.

Understand the complexities that burrowed in and

Unravel more than you realize to

Unset, the shadows clung but never see the complex maze you spun.

.

Nearly feeding a husk that will only lead into

Nothing but things below a mundane cold.

Null every dream we've had until you actually find a true

Neverending burning light.
