There is something about things
That you know can become more
If a little effort is put in the right places
They will blossom into completion
They will come to fruition
They will become amazing
It is easy to fall in love with these things
They are often beautiful already
A story, a building, a person
But there is something beyond
There is something more
An essence of what will be
An aura of potential to be realized
There is no need to change these things
No, that is not the intent
The wondrous moment is realizing
That this story, this building, this person
Will unfold into something incredible
You fall in love with them
But you fall in love with who, with what they will become
Many times there is disappointment
Oftentimes you are let down
That does not make you love them less
Because you never wanted them to change
You just wanted to see what they would become
Because you know they can be more
It is a matter of them realizing it
