Postcard Killing
Seaside Melodies
A Poem for Poppy's Prompt
*
*
Another postcard killing
bodies concealed in a bag
The end is the beginning
underneath red warning flags
Just a few steps down the beach
near the remnants of sandcastles
Hope and sirens out of reach
far from the news media assholes
Lies remains of the remains
left bare, exposed on salty display
Abandoned in sandy graves
sprawled in appalling array
Wind-chimes sing final farewells
as the flesh and tissue decay
While sea breezes billow and swell
the faintest of notions play

Well written!
This is so eerily captivating! "Wind-chimes sing final farewells as the flesh and tissue decay" Awesome lines!! The whole poem was so well crafted!
I think Mark Graham has a very good point!!!!
This could the start to a short story or even a detective novel.
A clever crime poem including all five prompts. Paul’s right… Poppy’s prompts have netted sad poems this month!🧐
great poem. I wonder did the Gilgo Beach Case inspire you? I'm a bit of a true crime buff and that's what your poem made me think of.

I love windchimes, enjoy postcards, & hate killings almost as what the media tends to do with them. Incredible blending here, Kelli.
Damn...we are all possessed by sad and maudlin stuff from Poppy's words. This is yet more creative brilliance from you Kelli!
