Positive Words to Say

A Poem

Positive words to say.

Sometimes it can feel like there’s not a positive word to say.

When another heartbreak leaves you too faithless to pray.

When bittersweet memories blend with the tears stuck within your eyes.

You stare out the same old window but now do not appreciate the sunrise.

There are so many questions unanswered for every time you felt like running...

She silenced your fears with the promise of all that there was and was coming.

She helped the frightened boy hiding inside rise up and to believe like a faithful man.

Only now after falling so very hard, he’d like to go back to before it all began.

There was a comfort in the feeling of only feeling numb.

A comfort within no meaning was how life had gradually become.

And he was searching for nothing but suddenly then he wanted it all.

It was then she pulled the throne from beneath him and he suddenly began to fall.

As he plummeted through the sky every memory fell from his eyes.

He felt the promises rip out his stomach as they converted into a diminished goodbye.

And all he wanted was a sign of the love that was sworn to be so true.

There was no whisper of a sign and it was in that moment he knew.

That the fairy tale of which he had finally allowed himself to believe.

Had been hiding an unhappy ending and it was now clear as day to see.

That although in this chapter of his life where he had written so much more than most.

He realised there is no future to be found being in love with a ghost.

So an epiphany transpired and hard as it felt to simply get on and live...

He realised his many blessings around him and all that he still had so much to give.

So with no regrets looking back and letting go of all anger, bitterness, and sadness.

He smiled at how within his book of life there is peace, love, passion, and a little madness.

And now we come to the point of this poetic story I tell...

He experienced his own special heaven and passed through his version of hell.

But through the troubles and the darkness he passed, he found his smile and a better day.

And so today his life goes on as he moves forward with only positive words to say.
