Poison’s Promise

Fast deadly, yet silent and sly

Poison’s Promise

A serpent circled where innocence once grew,
Its fangs kissed silence with a venomous grin.
The crimson fruit held secrets no soul outlived,
A feast where every ending chose to begin.

Poison never rushed with a thunderous cry,
It slipped through breath like a whispered vow.
Every drop tasted sweeter than mercy,
Every heartbeat belonged to darkness now.

The apple bled beneath a watchful coil,
Its scarlet tears stained forgotten ground.
Hope collapsed without a single scream,
Leaving only the hiss as the final sound.

No heaven answered the poisoned prayer,
No angels gathered the shattered remains.
Only shadows feasted upon broken faith,
Drinking despair from invisible veins.

The serpent smiled with ancient patience,
Its hunger older than the oldest grave.
It needed no chains to claim another soul,
Only temptation dressed as something to crave.

Every bite erased another memory,
Every swallow welcomed the endless night.
The sweetest poison carried no warning,
Only beauty hiding its fatal bite.

The earth remembered each crimson stain,
Roots drank sorrow buried below.
Flowers never dared to bloom again,
Choosing decay where life should grow.

When dawn searched for forgotten light,
Darkness answered wearing victory’s face.
The serpent rested beside its poisoned prize,
Waiting for another heart to embrace.
