Poison Arrows, Death Is Near

Poison arrows, death is near,

you can feel it in the air.

Not a scream, not a warning,

just a tightening around the heart.

The enemy does not always wear a face,

sometimes it arrives as doubt or fear.

You stand your ground with shaking hands,

hoping courage will remember you.

Each arrow carries a quiet ending,

a promise that something will change.

Survival becomes an act of defiance,

not victory, just breath by breath.

Even when death is near,

the will to live still fights back

The darkness gathers at it own speed,

it take and feels nothing but tears.
