Poems About Perspective

My Eyes

By Kathleen Elizabeth HarpePublished 6 years ago 1 min read

Why is it you judge me,

You have never lived my life.

What is it you gain,

By causing so much strife.

When you look through my eyes

And see all I have seen,

Beyond the stars and skies,

Places evergreen,

Ruins of broken worlds,

And blood-stained battlefields.

When you have quarreled endlessly,

With not but swords and shields.

Once you have seen all I’ve seen,

When you have lived that life.

Then you can make your judgement plea,

For you will now my strife.
