Sick of Florida and its inhabitants
Said goodbye to family and friends
Ready for the new opportunities that await
New friends have come and gone
Every destination offering its beauty
Food, customs, culture, all varying and unique
None of them feel like home
What does it take to feel at home?
Is it the place we live?
Is it the people around us?
What do I need to feel at home?
Connection is what I'm missing
Locations and people don't matter
If we have no connection to them
Connection is what makes it feel like home

This is not who I thought I would be. Before my family was captured and forced into slavery, I had aspirations of becoming a wealthy business owner or possibly a scholar and philosopher. Becoming a warrior was the furthest thing from my mind. Unfortunately, our Roman conquerors had other plans.
