Poem About Attraction

A Poem

This is me at a forest preserve enjoying the beauties of nature.

Attraction

The human law of attraction says that every human being at some point in life contemplates what or who governs the state of his or her existence on earth.

What does that mean?

I sit here and see

People desperately in need

To feel like they belong

And hope that there is a song

A song that will cure their insecurities

Because they don’t feel attractive

I am very reactive

Reactive to this point because beauty is something that is undefinable

Beauty is something you have to find inside of you

Sometimes people find it verifiable

To look for others to point out their strengths

When they cant see for themselves

And there are shelves and shelves

Of books on “how to find inner peace”

But in reality beauty is conceived as something so black and white

And thats why i sit here and write

Because beauty is what you define it as

Not what others think

Not what others see

And not what others perceive

You are you.

If you let the thoughts and discouragement of others define you

Then you will forever think of yourself as ugly

Not good enough

Out of place

Life isn’t a race

Slow down

You’re gonna make yourself look like a clown

Beauty is what is within

Society is so fucked up that they define beauty for you

Go beyond that

Find your potential and look at yourself everyday in the mirror

And say i love you

You are you

No one can replace you

You are beautiful

You are gorgeous

You are genuine

Love yourself for who you are

What really matters

Is the thing you see

When you look in the mirror.

Once you build that confidence

Everyone with fear

Fear the impact you will have

Because you have the potential to become someone great

And its not a piece of cake

But i believe in you

You are you

And you are beautiful.
