Poem 3
The Struggle of Working in a Hospital With a Nagging Woman
Instead of complaining about my inability to be as fast as you with something you’ve done for three years,
Instead of telling me I’m not good enough with a position I’ve only worked in for four months,
Instead of telling me you work too hard and that you deserve the rest more than I do,
You should look at yourself and realize that you aren’t the only one with problems,
You should realize, you’re not the only one with responsibilities that keep you from sleeping,
You should notice, each of us has the right to complain as much as you do,
But you see, we stay quiet and try to better ourselves in every way possible,
We choose communication to work with each other without fighting,
While you push us harder and expect us to be like you,
But, why would we want to be like you, when all you want to do is overwork yourself and then victimize yourself?
Why would we want to be like you, that you see yourself as higher than us because you’re either older or more hardworking?
We all have our own abilities and we all have our own personal things to do,
If all your life is just work, that’s your problem, not ours,
At least we don’t complain about ours.
About the Creator
Gentherly Coronado
I love to write poetry, and it can be quite dark at times. One thing about all of it, is that it comes from my heart. Everything I write is based on my life, and hopefully some of my words touch someone’s heart.
