Please Don’t Let Him In
The smile he wears is polished bright.
It hides the storm behind his eyes.
He speaks in honey, soft and slow.
While weaving carefully crafted lies.
He studies every fragile soul.
He learns the dreams you long to keep.
Then steals your confidence away.
Until your heart forgets to speak.
He makes you question what is real.
He twists the truth with clever grace.
You start believing every fault.
Is somehow written on your face.
He gives affection, then withdraws.
Just long enough to make you plead.
The chains are forged with empty hope.
Disguised as love, disguised as need.
The friends you trusted drift away.
The laughter slowly starts to fade.
You stand alone inside the dark.
Exactly how his plans were made.
One day a quiet voice returns.
It whispers softly, you are strong.
The door is waiting to be closed.
You knew the answer all along.
Walk through the fear with steady steps.
Do not look back, just keep your pace.
The future waits beyond the pain.
A brighter sky, a safer place.
So please don’t let him through your heart.
Do not invite him through your door.
The peace you lost can bloom again.
And you will rise forevermore.
