If you read and only heart,

Good on you - and that's a start,

But if you leave a comment out,

You'll leave me with a nagging doubt.

Is it not a worthy work?

Do I have a crazy quirk?

Then, to add to the frustration,

I can't find you for reciprocation.

If you don't care how I feel,

If a return read has no appeal,

Carry on with "heart and dash,"

But I won't read - that's your backlash.

I wrote this poem because lately, I've had a rash of people who gave me a heart but no comment. I find it frustrating, because even an emoji would give me credit for a comment and give me a link for a return read. How long does it take to drop a smiley face, a heart, or a thumbs up? If you don't like my work, I don't mind constructive criticism.

I'm here to grow as a writer and appreciate all comments.
