Plastic Face False as Day

Melting in the heat if false flames

Plastic Face False as Day

A painted smile, a polished show,

Only the surface lets you know,

Words drip sweet and hands reach wide,

While colder thoughts remain inside.

Plastic face beneath bright light,

Changing shape from day to night,

Truth bends softly to appear,

Never standing fully clear.

Promises wrapped in perfect sound,

Yet hollow echoes gather round,

Eyes may shine and voices stay kind,

Though honesty is hard to find.

Faces turn with shifting air,

Borrowed feelings placed with care,

Every mirror tells a tale,

Though masks eventually grow pale.

Some chase praise and endless sight,

Wanting to appear just right,

Building worlds that never last,

Running always from the past.

Still a real heart leaves a mark,

Even quiet within the dark,

No disguise can hold its place,

Truth arrives and strips the face.

So stand as you and not pretend,

Let real beginnings never end,

For those who know your honest way,

Will stay beyond the brightest day.
