You plant darkness deep beneath the skin,

Where roots of the muted congeal to sin.

Not every seed needs the sunโ€”

Some bloom when day is done.

*

We bury pain like cursed seeds,

Forget the name of old misdeeds.

But down below, in shadowed soil,

They feed on time, they grow and coil.

*

Not all thatโ€™s dark is meant to dieโ€”

This night gives space for self to cry.

This forest grows where light wonโ€™t reach,

Waiting for their day, the ground will breach.

*

This dark is not the end of things,

But where the waiting future clings

And what we bury, shame or grace,

May rise again in altered face.
