Wind running through hair of blue

A restless soul in need of the water

A young pirate in need of a crew

/

She found a party with a mission to do

And she, a scheming daughter

Had her own motivation or two

/

A gesture to prove that her pirate’s heart true:

Lead them like lambs to the slaughter

Betray the hunters who with her lot she threw

/

But betrayal turned on her, its venom to spew

And when the truth and her lies finally caught her

Her own loyalties she no longer knew

/

She chose the hunters bold o’er her old lying crew,

Even as they chased their ship over the water

And the cruel fight was one she’d ever rue.

/

Smoke rose thick from the pirate ship, the pirates they slew

She stayed at the rail, no longer her mother’s gold daughter

And she whispered goodbye to the life she once knew

Goodbye to the life she once knew
