Ping

A travel poem

By Digital DavisPublished 4 years ago • 1 min read

Have you ever had an experience so profound

That you trace it back to the decision points that led you there?

The pings that shifted your direction

Some pings are people

Some places

Some things

Some pings aren't even in your life anymore

And perhaps the pings that are not were there solely for that purpose

A course adjustment

A few degrees to the right

So that you'd encounter the next ping of direction

The next ping of lesson

Of decision

To lead you to where you are now

This incredibly unlikely moment

This collection of pings

Then consider what on Earth could be next

Because this moment is pinging you in a direction

But you don't know what it is

Until the next ping you notice

Retroactively

When having an experience so profound

That you trace it back to all the decision points that led you there.
