Burned but not beat

Forests abound in every place of the world,

some are straight while others are curled.

The land is vast and ready to pop,

but this one waits till after the drop.

Surrounded by towers and spines that keep guard,

no one realizes its hides a peculiar card.

Weather can change at the flip of a dime,

which some would say is practically a crime.

At times of heat the land goes dry,

and soon a spark lights up the sky.

Burning and scorching the earth it runs,

lacing the ground with seeds; great tons.

Rains will come if man doesn't first,

when soon the land begins to thirst.

The time is right for them to show,

for their true colors begin to grow.

What once was gone is here soon after,

and gives us all a chance at laughter.

Cycles are made to come and go,

forests are tough and this we know.

They line our lives with tales of rebirth,

for that is how things work on earth.
