When God put me together.
He missed some pieces.
Forgot the map.
Tossed out the mold.
Turned off the lights.
Rumbled that ones junk.
And went to bed.
I woke up one day.
A cord around my neck.
A little small.
A strange eye.
I misplaced some pieces.
Some were stolen.
Some just broke.
Some just don’t act like they used to.
When he visited me.
There were no gifts.
No long speeches.
Unfortunately, no map.
Merely an understanding.
An answer to the why we all ask ourselves.
Everything is a bit sweeter.
When you’ve been pieced together.
Sunshine on a Saturday afternoon.
A cool breeze after a hard day of work.
A cup of coffee when you’re tired and cold.
