I break off a piece of my heart

and hold it up for you to see

you examine me piece by piece

I'm naked in all of my vulnerability

my ink bleeds down your hands

as you hold what of me that you can

you just don't understand

how and why I am who I am

it's written on this page

made old at a very young age

there will never be enough sage

to cast out the demons

so I made friends and lived with them

a diamond and I under pressure

are both made of stone

and I always believed it was better

than living alone
