Phi Phi Island

This home that is not my own...

Twilight, darkened sky

Outlines of waving trees

The soft sound of rain on the tin roof

This is the calm of a monsoon

Dull lights burn in the distance

Sweet smells of flowers and tobacco fire

Light drums in the background of this scene

This is what this strange land is to me

Animals on every corner

Sun shining bright, reminding me of home

Bugs are flying all around me

Driving down the winding roads of gold

Music from this land is dancing all around me

It’s hard not to sway to the groove

This is what this strange land is to me

Bustling, keep moving, moving

Cars speeding, zooming, zooming

Red light, green light

Shops on every corner

Wake up, work hard, laugh with a Coke in my hand

Sleep tight, wake up, and do it all again

This is what this strange land is to me
