Perspective and Perception

Cutting through the veil of this royal velvet grasp

challenging skewed perceptions some enlist

Who am I, to command such attention, you may ask?

I’m every person who’s struggled to exist

By DJ Johnson on Unsplash

I’ve taken many forms, employing every shade and hue

Strokes of my brush, erasing hate and prejudice

I’m painting my own story, I will be what I will be

Shedding your opinions, so you can hear my voice

By Anna Kolosyuk on Unsplash

I’m pouring my acceptance out freely to anyone that needs it

Like paint poured into a tray, thick pure and smooth

You create the colors from it, that you need to set the tone

I’ll support the choices you pursue

By Sarah Ardin on Unsplash

Cause No one should feel held back in their journey to become

Whatever experiences I’ve had , you can muse

My colors may not be your choice, they weren’t meant for you

My red and yellow may be blue to you

By Matteo Paganelli on Unsplash

A rainbow that glows like a prism

reflections changing, depending who sees it

A vast and spectacular display

Of the heart when it learns to how to speak

By Tim Marshall on Unsplash

I am freedom, I am truth.

I am all people
