I meditate long on the Muse's lively bliss

Whose call goes out like a shockwave

rolling across the landscape

its intention enters me

words sown on fertile soil

glowing seeds of inspiration growing

Carrying them nurturing the future

with my own flesh and blood

watering capsules of precious truth

with tears of joy and sorrow overflowing

flooding the banks of rivers

creating a clear path for projected growth

As roots sprout from my marrow

into vines of sanguine flowers

spreading across my

naked expanse tickling disappearing

prickling skin

Bearing storied fruit in due time

I must tend them with unwavering fervor

and judicious trowel

slicing off the crop at my viney loom

sitting day and night as creepers

unfettered grow in my vegetal womb

unceasing

weaving

and weaving

and weaving

and weaving

upon peering into the cloth I’m fabricating

I see my story the past I never lived

Glowing brighter

growing faster

weaving tighter

seeing deeper

feeling truly for the first time

I’m fully made of the story I’m telling

a creature woven of woody tendrils

bearing fruit a field flowering

in my transitioning seasons

awakening with the enlivening sun

and falling with it each eve

leaving a trail of quilted petals

a grassy patchwork where ere I rest

on my eternal journey

A land where my work shall never fail

Now I am Evergreen

When looking for therapy for my memory loss and PTSD, I was alarmed to find out that because my trauma and memory loss began at such an early age, I wasn't going to be "rebuilding" anything; there was no "before" time. All I ever knew was abuse and trauma. I would be building an all-new life from scratch.

Making new memories, forming the person I wanted to be from the ground up. I needed to decide what I liked and didn't like, who I wanted to become, and what values I wanted to base my life around. Starting your life fresh in your thirties is hard, but it was better than the alternative. The bright side is that I know who I am now, and that I am who I want to be.
