Perfecting Imperfections

For those who can't see their own wings.

We all try, and we all strive,

to look and act our best on the outside.

Yes we all try, and can't all strive,

to look and play the part before other's eyes.

Yes we can try, and never strive,

but then how will they know if we try, but don't strive.

Yes we all try, and sometimes strive.

Because when we succeed, it makes us feel alive for a short time,

but it also gives us that sense of pride.

We all try, and we all have some drive,

something that keeps us going, even if we feel as thought we are dying inside.

Are we actually living, I mean living our best life?

Do we get to feel alright?

Do we always have to fit into that box?

That box that others feel the need to check off for us, when it feels like that light inside starts to die.

Or do we fight for our rights!?

That right to let our inner light shine as bright as the stars we gaze at some nights.

To dress and act the way we want to feel on the inside?

To fight, to fly, to sing and laugh our honest laughs, to stand for what we want and not hold back.

We have that right, so why hold back?

Not everyone will love that side, but if you wish to be who you are, and some people aren't impressed with it, then know that you will be alright.

Because that light, that beautiful burning crimson fire, will warm you up inside.

It will be a beacon so welcoming, that you will draw the right people to your side.

So try and strive all you like,

but try and strive for what you want in life.

Try and strive, but know that everything will work out, in our everyday lives.

About the Creator

Angel Sparks

To me, words will always go with actions, they are beautiful, dicey and all together fun. Actions complete those words, especially when conveying a deep message, I hope to do just that.
