“Yes,” he groaned. “The garden looks like it could be in a magazine now. Can we please get started?” Lucille gave him a knowing smile and gestured for him to sit. “Alright, but first, let’s have a chat.” Damien raised an eyebrow. “A chat? About what?”

“About the sauce,” she said, her voice softening. “You’re so focused on recreating it, but do you even know why it’s so important to you?” He hesitated. “I mean, it reminds me of when I was a kid. Sunday dinners, the whole family laughing around the table… It just feels like… home, you know?”

Lucille nodded. “Exactly. That’s what food is supposed to do. It’s not just about the ingredients; it’s about the people, the memories. But you’re missing the point if you think you can find that feeling in a recipe alone.”
