Perception is the new reality.

Fake a smile and watch they think happiness is your only mentality

Post pics with your friends and laugh away,

Not knowing it’s only a social display.

Fake it till you make it, the best tool in life,

Because you might be a fake but the others won’t know it’s all a disguise.

Your insecurities eat you from the inside out

But don’t let it show because you're the only one In doubt.

Fake a smile and play pretend, don’t try to comprehend

Perception is the new reality.

So go fake a smile because then happiness is your mentality

Go out with your friends and act like they’re the best

It’s not like you’ve been placed in some contest.

Hide your doubts, insecurities and shame

Because then you're going to lose the game.

Perception is my reality

I smile so they think happiness is my mentality

The world thinks of me in some sort of way because that’s what I choose to put on display

The confident smiles and the cheeky grin aren’t apart of my DNA

But I want the world to see me in that kind of way.

Perception is the new reality

So I fake a smile and I guess happiness is my new mentality.

This is only a facade, lost are the thoughts

Of what mentality means upon reflection

Some would say, it's perception of mentality

The ability to mask 1000 words behind one picture,

A smile...

Like the River Styx our minds bathed in immortality of a reality that should not be

Unscathed from countless battles

To fall in an instance when struck by Achilles

At last, resting in Elysium with the soundless thoughts

A vast world of concepts, imaginations, wishes and mentality that lasted eons...

Faded, but in a moment
