Pearlescent Black

A path for the ignorant

Imagine a darkness

So deep

A labyrinthine abyss

In which you must surrender

To psychosis

To escape

Just keep swimming

Escapé

It's all coming back to you now

You'll need this

What was once a black shroud

Now kaleidoscopic

A single stomach-encased butterfly

To a flock of hundreds

What, the flock?

I thought that was sheep

Stop counting

Revisit them after a good sleep

Now wake into paralysis

Are you sure that you're dreaming?

You must be

To just think there is

An absence of colour here

Overcome your fears

And view this spectrum

From a different angle

Learn the lesson that

The lack of love's too hot to handle

Your hands'll smoulder inside oven mitts

As long as you believe

The lack of love is bliss

Honestly, it's dumb as shit

So turn manure into a new growth

Conquer fear and choose hope

Love a queer and show that

You are capable of being kind

But only if you feel inclined

Otherwise, just

Mind your own self-employment enterprise

Ignore the colours

Let them die

You'll be who is left inside

See the light or step aside

And live in fear of pesticidal mania

With voices crawling in your mind

Seeping through the crania

Of those who opt for solemn sabotage over a saviour

So rest in stagnation

As they call on you to harvest your essence

Or feel your heart

And join us in calling this darkness

'Pearlescence'
