Peach & Peeled

Poetry

By Kase MetzlerPublished 8 years ago • 1 min read

gently slide the blade down

the fuzzy skin

peel it apart,

till the seed blooms

dig around till nectar,

bleeds down bony hands

rip back piece by piece

till honeydew is left

on wooden floors

a pit in your stomach

a massacre of the innocent

.k

Naked,

bleached skin lay split

wide as a peach

Familiar hands dig in the soil

how easy was it for hate to make home

like sticky juice on fingers

Thorns prick at the end of

pale lips,

Moaning, be brave

Those thieves who rob at night

salivate for the innocent

and she knew,

she could not last

.k

sad poetry
