10 Peace In Knowledge

Some say there's peace in knowledge

I want to feel at peace knowing that you're laid to rest after doing your very best to impress our creator

But everytime you cross my mind I have to confess the loneliness I drown in overwhelmed by the absence of your presence

Life is short you can't live in the past you must live for the present

Yet there's so many questions, time slips away

I can't help but wonder where did you go, where do you stay

Is there an afterlife when this one has come to an end only those who are gone know the truth from beginning to end

Or is it an everlasting slumber the best sleep you'll ever get

Religion this, religion that I'm only interested in straight facts

We all need something to believe in, to keep us sane but when we learn the harsh reality of the truth who will we blame

Such a shame we don't know our purpose why are we here no one can answer that

Each and everyday we stress over man made issues and I watched you struggle to maintain what was supposed to be given to you

Such a strong man left as nothing but a deflated double

It's hard letting you go, you kept me out of trouble

Diseases created but what for?

To keep everyone in check, stop the overflow of a population that doesn't understand the purpose of safe sex

What a sad excuse of a way to live

I hope you're living better wherever you are, reaching for the stars because you knew who you were

Who you've always been

A great man, uncle, and friend

You're a brother, a son, a father, a husband and there's no way to begin thanking you for all that you've done

There's peace in knowledge but what if you know none

Does your heart explode while your mind races to find the key to what could ultimately be the emptiest nothing

Is that something you could accept

A lifetime worrying about what never mattered to begin with things you started to obsess over,

I don't want it to be that way, you lived a great life I hope you didn't leave a single regret behind

In spite of all the evils in the world you found the simple ways in life, you turned wrongness into right

You put up a fight to the very end you didn't give up and let cancer win

When it's your time to go you cannot stop it

We all have an expiration date written above our heads

Are you surrounded by others who have passed, family members who also moved on to the greater skies

When I look up are you apart of the sun that shines or is this world completely left behind

When you cry does the skies turn gray, when you smile is it the start of a new day

Positive vibes, are you sending them our way

I hope so because your funeral will be a depressing day

It's our final goodbye, so you know we'll cry as your memory reminisces over us all

I'll miss your calls, your laugh, your ways, my silly little nickname, I'll try to live without it because...

Some say there is peace in knowledge
