we were never viewed as people

we were never treated as equals

since the beginning of time

there has always been a double standard

when we get abused, assaulted

it somehow ends up being our fault

that we should have been more careful

or should have worn something “modest “

we are only viewed as baby makers

or something to fulfil your sexual pleasure

no matter how hard we fight to be treated as equals

we fought for years to be treated as equals

for voting rights, equal pay, reproductive rights

they will only see as objects

and nothing more
