Patiently Waiting

A Poem

I am patiently waiting to be worshipped

Paste me into your dithyrambs or iambs

do whatever you like

mold me a mask or a robe

dress my head on a pike

peel away the flesh holding in my humanity

maybe then my brain would flit with less insanity

and my bare lungs could take in the oxygen I've been missing

with ideas sitting on my bones hissing

I am patiently waiting to be worshipped

ignore the dead end of any courtship

solace myself in the words of another

play pretend as friend or lover

So paste me into your dithyrambs or iambs

mold me a mask or a robe, call it home

I will make foreign words fit me like a glove

An patiently wait to be worshipped
