Patience,
It’s an art form, a virtue
Few of us share
Be it at Fast Food Drive-Thrus,
DMV’s, cops and their DUI’s,
Public restroom lines, the undivine.
Everything’s a pain, but you need to try
Red lights are a thing, just so you know
Yellow is half of green, still, don’t go
You could have made it at another’s expense.
Follow the flow.
The baristas at Starbucks have a soul.
Don’t blame them for your choice
Your decision to dive in a pool so full.
Max capacity for waiting,
At an all-time low
We’ve been there and done that
On both sides of the coin
Between patience for one
And patience for none
It’s such a pain
When you’re the one made to wait
Such a shame
When they refuse to do the same
For you, isn’t it?
Tell you what,
We’re all in each other’s way
Taking each other’s time and space
That’s how it is when people live
We coexist,
Some never got the memo or the gist
Of waiting for the one in front, while another
Silently waits for their sweet, sweet turn
So…
Do your best next time
Don’t get in each other’s face
Like the child ingrained,
Infringing upon the rights of
The playground gang
There is no race
There is no secret to it , really.
Let’s all stay sane
In the waiting game…
