Healing through cutting

Listen for constriction

the ventricle walls closing at each rhythmic moment

clasping glass

grinding nails

sliding razor blades

creating mincemeat from a most essential organ.

Maybe things are as they should be

born to bleed

planned obsolescence, human edition.

These parts fulfill a purpose

designed to die

made to break.

One could always regurgitate those words

sharpness

metal

dysfunction

deny something that is both, or neither, mask and face

then make it so.

The minced meetings of flesh united again.

A collection of rivets in a bottle on a table far from me

a table in a non-coronary chamber.

It doesn’t matter

the appearance

whether those pieces are components of a self-destructive whole

the remainder can endure much more.
