Part-Time Prostitute

Loneliness, Lust, and Loss

By Monea LaTurPublished 8 years ago • 1 min read
I wanted to share a story in my poem about a married couple. The husband committed adultery. The wife hated him but loved the memories of their once faithful marriage. Gradually, she became attracted to other men for gifts. In return, she engulfed herself in the lust of her lovers, not realizing the consequences.

Pacing the floors alone at night

Always arguing, they had a fight

Running into the arms of a new lover

Thinking her husband has another

Tossing and turning as her lovers increase

Illustrated passions of love decrease

Married but alone is all she had

Every moment of lust is good and bad

Praying each day for the better life

Remembering days she was a loved wife

Overnight affairs become a part-time job

Stripping her soul for any paying slob

Tainting her body with foreign semen

Innocently giving into a demon

The demon of lust is who she blames

Until she realizes she'll burn in flames

Today her lustful heart will beat no more

Ended by her husband's gun as she hits the floor
