2018 Camp Fire

In 2018, one of the deadliest fires in California's history - the Camp Fire - swept through Paradise, destroying almost everything in its path. My mother-in-law, who had just lost her husband to cancer the year before, lost her home in the fire. This haiku is for her.

Blazing inferno

attacked with little warning

charred remains stand guard
