Paper & Pen

poetry is an art —

a very troublesome, annoying art.

sometimes you go weeks

wanting to write

but have no muse

and other times

you just want to sleep

but your brain decides

to write a book

it just needs paper and a pen.

sometimes all you can write

is depression and pain

when you're feeling on top of the world,

and other times

you write about the good times

when you've hit rock bottom.

poetry comes and goes

like the wind

poetry is an art

not all can keep up with

without losing some part of themselves
