I am Pandora’s daughter
Curiosity, my guide
Naivety, my keeper
I walk lonely
Leaving devastation in my wake
With every step I take
I dream of laying in the grass
And watching cotton balls floating
In the ocean’s reflection
When night falls
I gaze at the facets of eternity
Lost in stars
And fancy cars
And memories, too many
I want to run
Be lost in the darkness
Never more to be seen
Never more to be
I am nothing but a humble host
To a trapped entity
A walking cage
My rage knows no bounds
Lost, though it is,
In myself
And as I try to find a way
To let the night take me
To a safe haven
I know that I will awake
With your face in my vision
Your voice in my head
Your hands still traced on my skin
I know I will never be free
Maybe I can lock them away
The memories of you
Who you are
What you’ve done
I’ll Place them in a box
Up on the highest shelf
And tell myself
No matter what
I’ll never look inside
But then again,
I am Pandora’s daughter
