Field of Roses and Ash

Painted Goddess

In an intricate painting upon wallpapered wall

Stands a night-gowned beauty in a garden of roses

An erotic sublation of love and passion alight

In azure eyes too corporeal to be mere brushstrokes

And it seems these eyes of hypnotizing depth

Awakens a starving lust in her entranced admirers

Who trace her curves with feather-light touch

And transfix their gaze upon her tulle-covered breasts

It's here, they linger ere an immortal Goddess

Disguised as elegant canvas and paint

Rooted to the ashes beneath their feet

Like the first sprout after a raging fire

Unrelenting, she holds their gaze with adoration

Caressing of souls through glazed eyes

That they may never notice the ash beneath them

Is the decay of the admirers that died before
