Dear Pain,

You are the constant reminder of all that I have lost,

The aching in my bones, the weight upon my heart.

You are the unwelcome guest that never leaves,

The haunting presence that tears me apart.

I try to push you away and ignore your cries,

But you always find a way to seep back in.

You hold me captive in your unrelenting grasp,

Making it hard to breathe, to think, to begin.

You are the monster that lurks beneath my skin,

The demon that keeps me up at night.

You rob me of my energy, my joy, my peace,

Leaving me with nothing but endless fright.

But despite all the pain and the hurt you bring,

I know that I must face you head on.

For only by going through you can I emerge,

Stronger, wiser, and ready to carry on.

So here I am, standing tall and unafraid,

Ready to take on whatever you may bring.

For I know that I am not alone in this fight,

And that hope and healing will eventually spring.

Sincerely,

The one who refuses to be defeated by pain.
