Pain
A gift given
An unconventional gift we have been given
To long dearly and fully
To feel our lungs tighten and our eyes leak
To hear voices around and within us chorus one word:
Why?
The gift to have our cells and fluids compete in a rush of adrenaline.
A gift so precious and rare it has to be sought after.
Only found in love.
A rare find.
How contradictory the find.
Something so unpleasant found we because we have found the pleasant.
For we only fear as much as we love.
And our depth of love measured by the amount of pain we could encounter from the loss of our love.
Pain, a gift so rare that on it, the world is never left the same.
