A poem

Last night I didn’t move.

-

I watched the sun fall

And rise again

Buried by clouds

Without ever really blinking.

-

I watched the trees contort their shape,

Listened to the cars which never stopped passing,

Saw the neon lights gradually dim down and flutter away

All while I stayed

(Or was stuck)

Completely static,

Entirely motionless,

Crushed beneath the weight

Of your memory.

-

I can’t remember

My alarm

Going off

Or the sky

Shifting gradient

From black

To that same grey.

-

My mind was far away,

A thousand miles

And years ago

Chasing after regrets

Gathering them together,

But not to let them go.
