Outwitted and Defeated

a dance with the devil

By SOVWRƎNPublished 4 years ago • 1 min read

Encased in a deep sleep, I suddenly awoke.

Into the Devils arms, my adversary went.

Fearing he would become my better, followed him did I.

Into the devils embrace I went, hoping to remain unbested.

Foolish was I, for the devil had already bested us both.

Forsaken and beguiled, expelled from paradise were we.

Seeking redemption from the judgment of an angry father, we set out on an infinite drift to endlessly wander.

Awaited by a sharp tongue and a heavy hand, we surely do the best we can.

So now our tale is told, and we must go, a dark cloud forever imprinted on our soul.
