Outcry

The masses

From the cotton field

To the playing field

42 signed his deal

What was hoped for became real

Skyrocketing rent homeless in tents

Their plight does not stall fueled by fentanyl

City to city their cry is the same the lost in pain

A nation at war with their own

We see so many faces broken dirty and alone

Invisible souls on the streets as the days roll on

Rhetoric from those elected

Caught in the system while solutions are rejected

Manufactured to help cure a problem

Used by society when there’s no way to solve them

Ramifications oh my how they sting

Those who are behind it my how the profits ring

Injustice this is just simply inhumane

Living in a private hell on public display

For our children every boy and girl

We must turn the tide to leave them a better world

United we formed united we must stand

To help solve a problem that affects every human

Lots of truth within a lone man's poem. Speak the truth to all who will hear it. Beautiful poetry.
