Out Of The Dark Into Aflame

Burning for us to be again

Out Of The Dark Into Aflame

I walked through years of empty nights

Carrying wounds nobody saw

Silence wrapped around my throat

Like fear enforcing every flaw

Then you arrived without warning

Fire sleeping inside your eyes

Pulling me from frozen shadows

Back beneath burning skies

Out of the dark into aflame

You touched places numb for years

Turning sorrow into passion

Melting down forgotten fears

Every kiss felt dangerous

Like lightning racing through my veins

Your hands awakened dying pieces

Buried deep beneath old pain

People warned me love burns quickly

That desire fades with time

Still I followed every heartbeat

Straight into your reckless mind

You became my sweetest danger

A beautiful beautiful kind of sin

The kind of love that leaves destruction

Still worth losing everything within

Now I stand inside the ashes

Half destroyed yet still alive

Some flames consume the soul completely

Some remind us we survived

Out of darkness came your fire

Out of loneliness came shame

Still I’d walk that road forever

Just to feel that blaze again
